Of late, I have been pondering over life and the emotional sustenance of our existence – love, affection, friendship, togetherness which all leads to RELATIONSHIPS. The one word – it has so many connotations and forms the basis of all human bonding.

We form relationships all through our lives – perhaps the strongest being formed before birth, in the mother’s womb. The parental relationship and those between siblings are bonds which have a strong foundation – after all “blood is thicker than water”. At the same time we can’t really choose these relationships as they happen by birth. We again don’t get to choose our relatives (I wish I And about the relationships that we can choose like friends, lover, spouse. Do we always choose wisely? Then why are there so many broken hearts and houses?

I think it finally boils down to relating - the day we stop relating to another person, the relationship is over. So let us stop taking the other person in our relationship for granted and make that extra effort to relate, then I think, we can sustain it longer!
